Ok so we went on the reliability ride in Leicester, Geoff picked me up at 7-30 and we set off for our journey into the unknown roads and backgrounds of Leicester. As we drove into the entrance of the Leicester Off road cyclists, it was covered in about 2 inches of mud. So we signed up and there were about 7 people queing to sign in as well. So we got dressed and prepared to go into the unknown roads and countryside of Leicester. We set out about 9am, turning right and catching up into a small group of riders of about 8 strong. As we motored through the still snowy roads into Barkby and then into "cbeebies" as Geoff called it, and motoring through South Croxton where the speed down hill was about 35mph. South Croxton is a nice small village and it had a post office in there aswell and a Royal Mail bike, Geoff can't get away from it. At the cross roads we went onto Melton Mowbray and then into Twyford. After a few bends we went into John O Gaunt, we was motoring towards HMS Ashwell at this point i was feeling strong and even had my turn at the front as the domestique with another guy going along at a rate of knots. As we were progressing to the half way point of this ride which was Wymondham which had a windmill. We stopped for a whizz and to see what was ahead of us. We movd onto passing through Garthorpe, Saxby, Stapleford, Great Dalby and up Woodgate hill. We went up the same way back but we thought we were doing the 65 miles until we pulled over and noticed that we were back near where we started. Anyway this is the first 50 miles to training to france and many more to come. I enjoyed it even though my legs went, the scenery was brilliant snow topped hills. We done the 50 miles in 3:16 minutes averaging a respectable 14.8 mph.

Good report but I think you mean HMP Ashwell not HMS.
