Brilliant Audax

Yesterday me and Geoff went to Whythall for The Cotswold Audax hosted by RCC and what a brilliant organised ride it was. We arrived at 9am for a 9-30 start, we went into the clubhouse and grabbed our brevet cards, a pen and a banana. As we set off on our way to the first stopping point 20 miles away Welford upon Avon we stopped for 10 minutes. Then we progressed to our next stop off point which was Wellesbourne Airfield and the cafe was called "Touchdown" as we cycled through Long Marston, Lower Quinton and Ilmington were we had a few steep climbs but continued at a good pace towards our cafe stop but as we cycled through Pilerton Prior there was what seemed to be a old motorbike rally as there were 20 bikes heading the other way. We countinued at a good pace through to Wellesbourne and after 43 miles of undulating terrain and cycling through some good testing climbs we were at the "Touchdown Cafe". After collecting our stamp and time 12.29pm we started back towards home. So cycled through Charlecote, Hampton Lucy, Black hill and Lowsonford we were continously climbing then came Bush wood, Copt Green and Tanworth-in-Arden and we were closing in on the finish passing through Kings Norton Golf Club and we were still climbing my legs were aching as i had hardly been on my bike due to having Ryan and spending time with my family but i'm back in work on Tuesday so the miles will be flooding back in. I'm off to Solihull CC again on Sunday but will no doubt post before sunday.
